The Latest Happenings....

Now that we've survived the month of December, we're settling into a grove and getting back on track with our wedding planning. There hasn't been a whole lot of major developments, but some small things we've accomplished:

Miah designed our Save The Date cards! We found a cheaper way to do it ourselves and save a ton of money. We bought our own paper (Joann Fabrics), our own card stock (Joann's again), our own envelopes and labels (on sale at Office Max) and we used Kinko's to mass print in high quality color. The bulk of the cost will be with postage, but we have some ideas to save there as well. We'll post a pic of the card soon! It's not as fancy as the professional wedding graphics/invitation designers use, but we like it and we didn't feel like spending $300-$400 on save-the-date cards. We've been assembling them the last couple of weeks, which has been quite a fun experience. Miah has a cutting board, so we've been cutting and glueing in our "free" time. Ha, free time. Ang is a master with glue, Miah is the master of the cutting board. We are happy to report that he did not lose a finger in the process.

We were shopping at Target this week and came across some neat items in their clearance section, all of which were "fall themed." Among the cool little items were these glass pumpkin candle holders, so we bought a couple on the cheap to add a little flavor to the hall decor. We're keeping our eyes open at many places for little things like this.

We met with our first florist. We really like her. We're going to check out other florists, but we have a feeling this first florist might be the one. There will be more to report on the Flower aspect soon.....

There was some more good news (i.e. saving money). We contacted the hall about discounts for kids, and we found out the kids eat at half price! That's a huge cost saver. Not only that, kids who are younger than a determined age eat free! Even better! With the hall constituting the largest part of our budget, we have saved some nice coin. Good news!

That's pretty much it for now. We'll have more to report pretty soon....

Until next time, take care!
